Morning Sentinel Staff
This is in response to Mark Tardif's letter (March 11) "Republicans can't accept compromise of any kind."
Whaaaaaat? Who wrote the bill behind closed doors? Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi -- all Democrats.
After the health-care summit, who decided that they would continue with the bill, (as written by Obama, Reid and Pelosi), instead of implementing some of the ideas of the Republicans?
Compromise. Who decided to continue with the bill when a majority of the people in the U.S. said it wasn't the way to go and start over with less invasive solutions?
Obama, Reid, Pelosi. Who in the bill said Nebraska would not have to pay into this? Obama, Reid, Pelosi. Who is trying to increase our deficit by trillions to increase government intrusion? (You know who) Who is trying reconciliation because it doesn't have the bipartisanship majority support of the Congress? (good guess).
Obama, Reid and Pelosi, and Tardif, all talk about compromise, but why aren't they talking about real solutions, like opening the insurance market across state lines?
Why aren't they talking about cutting abuse of our system and ways to combat the fraud? If Tardif wants big taxes and big brother in his world, he can keep it there. We don't want it. If you want a health-care system like Dirigo (which spent $200 million in three years for 20,000 people). Love the money spent for oversight by Big Brother.
