Homosexual, heterosexual pedophiles equally bad

Letter to the Editor

The more I see about the controversy surrounding the Boy Scouts allowing gays to join, the more I see people just don't have a clue.

The gays and lesbians with whom I have worked over the years would be just as disgusted with a gay or lesbian pedophile as any heterosexual person would be with a pedophile who is looking for a minor of the opposite sex.

A Boy Scout leader or a boy who is aspiring to be a member of the Boy Scouts shouldn't be kept out of the organization because he is gay, any more than a gay man should be kept out of the workplace.

Of all the gay men I have encountered in my life, not one has attempted to force his orientation on anyone else, so why should they be kept from the Boy Scouts?
