February 21

Officer went above and beyond duty to help out

Letter to the Editor

In a day and age where there is little in the way of good news, we would like to make a personal acknowledgment for a person who took their job to a different level.

While driving home from Skowhegan on Feb. 5, a friend and I saw a vehicle pulled over to the side of the road with the trunk popped up. A Skowhegan Police cruiser was parked behind the car.

When we drove by, we could see the officer helping the two young women who were in the car by changing their flat tire. The women and a small child stood on the side of the road while the officer changed the car's tire.

A big pat on the back to this officer for going above and beyond the call of duty. His good deed did not go unnoticed.
