Letter to the Editor
Professor Joseph Reisert begins his column about gun ownership by actually agreeing that President Barack Obama is right on at least one point.
Would Reisert, however, agree that describing Obama as "smugly" suggesting, tells us more about his subjective reaction to the president than it does about the facts of the matter?
And just what is offensive about stating that a solution to this problem will require courage?
Would Reisert agree that the ability to fire multiple rounds with every squeeze of a trigger is not something the ordinary gun owner really needs? Would he agree that merely assailing the president's speech does nothing to provide the wise solution desired by all? I wonder.
