Letter to the editor
While being in the Air Force and spending more than a year on the beautiful island of Guam, my wife and I lived off base because I did not have enough rank for base housing.
Roosters crowing were common place, and at first, they would wake us up about 2 o'clock in the morning.
After a few weeks we got used to it, and after a couple months we sort of looked forward to the crowing. Seems like they talked to each other.
When I heard a rooster crow in the early morning, I would just roll over in bed and think the world is right and drift off to sleep.
Now when we hear a rooster crow it gives us a good feeling that life is as it should be. To me, people should stop and listen and then maybe another rooster will answer.
Dogs barking is a different story!
