Letter to the Editor
I just read that all the materials for our new police station, along with the Winslow station (and I think also items in Fairfield), are purchased from out-of-area retailers (letter, "Materials for new police station not bought locally," Jan. 27).
A recent item from our local officials told us to shop locally, support our local merchants, hire local workers, and so on and so on. I guess that article applies only to us peons.
So we end up saving a few dollars for the police station, but how many of our local merchants got anything out of this?
