Many Republican representatives in Augusta did not support Gov. Paul LePage in his run for governor. Maine conservatives did, and they did for a reason. We could have chosen a moderate, but we didn't.
Tough choices need to be made, and massive cuts need to be made. Republicans should stop asking what the Democrats on the left feel is fair. They are the ones who made the mess this state is in. Democrats have turned Maine into a welfare state, and now Republicans have a chance to fix things.
Moderates need to come together with the governor, not the Democrats. Maine finally has the votes to fix things, and only moderate Republicans can stop it.
The tea party voted in Republicans, and they sure can vote them (moderates) out, as well.
They should back the governor and get the work done.
