We're all less for the passing of Robert Vitolo

Letter to the editor

Robert Vitolo. This name should be remembered by this newspaper and by all who knew him.

I had the honor of working with Bob and the pleasure of talking to him about the times past.

Bob resented the fact he was a "notch baby," born between 1917 and 1921. He said he worked and paid his dues as much as anyone, but somehow the notch kids got overlooked for their sacrifices.

The media, the community and the country is less for his passing. Bob was a person to be respected and a person who respected all. I am grateful for all of Bob's contributions and I am sure we will debate the politics of the world again some day.

All my respects to the Vitolo family.

Ed Morris, Benton
