CONCORD, N.H. — A New Hampshire House committee has voted in favor of a ban on carrying guns on the House floor, gallery and adjacent areas.
If approved by the full House on Jan. 2, the measure would reverse a 2011 rule by the then-Republican-led Legislature that allowed the lawmakers to carry, but not display weapons at the Statehouse.
The 6-4 vote of the House Rules Committee on Thursday was along party lines, with Democrats casting the most votes. Democrats won a majority in elections last month.
