LITCHFIELD — The annual Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival is planned for June 14-17 at the Litchfield Fairgrounds, 30 Plains Road.

Festival grounds have a larger and better stage that was built in 2010.

This year, there will be the Blistered Fingers Kids Academy. Blistered Fingers and the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine got together to create a free, relaxed, informative three-day music program for children, ages 8-18. The focus will be how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music. Students need to bring their own instruments and must commit to the three-day program.

The gates will open at 8 a.m. Monday, June 1. Weekend tickets for each festival will cover four days of music and camping from 8 a.m. Thursday, June 14 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 17.

The Litchfield Fairgrounds Committee will serve hot meals in the café. There will also be several other vendors on the grounds.

Performers will include: The Lonesome River Band, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show, The Bluegrass Brothers, White Mountain Bluegrass, Tony Holt & Wildwood Valley Boys, The Bluegrass Diamonds, Travers Chandler & Avery County, Original Condition, Blue Around the Edges, The Pine Hill Ramblers, Maranacook String Band, Robinson Gospel Sing Along & Jam, Blistered Fingers.

Tickets are available at the gate, and cost $70 per person for all days with camping free for children 12 and younger with a paying adult; $10 for Thursday only; $25 for Friday before 5 p.m., $20 after 5 p.m.; $25 for Saturday before 5 p.m., $20 after 5 p.m.; $10 for Sunday only.
