WATERVILLE — Cody Rodrigue scored a hat trick and the St. Dominic Regioal High School boys hockey team broke open a close game with six second-period goals to beat Waterville 7-0 in an Eastern A game Monday morning at Alfond Rink.
Brad Berube scored a goal and two assists for the Saints (5-2-0), who led just 1-0 after the first period.
Rodrigue scored his second goal of the game just 30 seconds into the second period, which opened the proverbial floodgates.
“We let up that one goal and then we kind of let up,” Waterville senior captain forward JT Whitten said. “I felt we had them after the first (period). We were just dumping it in and grinding them. We were shooting from everywhere and we played pretty good.”
