COLLEGE ROUNDUP: Lola scores 1,000th career point

AUGUSTA — Jenn Lola scored her 1,000th career point as she led the University of Maine at Augusta past the University of Maine at Machias 82-60 in Yankee Small College Conference women’s basketball action Tuesday.

Lola, a Monmouth Academy graduate, finished with 20 points. Arreonte Lee led the way with 29 points for the Moose while Richmond graduate Jamie Plummer added 19 points . Courtney Jicks was also in double figures with 12.

UMM was led by Vanessa Patterson with 22 points while Kirsti Wright added 18.

MEn’s Basketball

UM-MACHIAS 85, UM-AUGUSTA 71: Brian Getchell scored 16 points to lead UMM to the victory in Augusta.

Elias Gutierrez added 14 points for UMM while Floyd Higgins had 13.

The Moose were led by Keith Chesley with 27 points, Garrett Alley with 17 and Jesse Smith with 13.
