WATERVILLE — The Thomas College men’s tennis team ran its conference win streak to four straight with a 9-0 victory against Lyndon State College in North Atlantic Conference action Sunday.

In doubles play. Thomas (5-4, 4-1 NAC) received an 8-3 win from Tyler Small and Eric Morin, then in No. 2 doubles Malcolm Marshall and Caleb Mora took down the Hornets 8-3, with Jonte Roussel and Federico Trujillo defeating Chas Legge and Josh Bacon 8-6. in the third match. In singles play, Small swept John Corey 6-0, 6-0, with Morin taking down Trevor Updike 6-2 and 6-1. Marsall defeated Tyler Hall 6-0, 6-2 in No. 3 singles, with Mora battling Legge to a 7-6, 4-7, 6-0 victory. Roussel and Trujillo rounded out singles play with wins as well in the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.

BASEBALL

MAINE 2, UMASS-LOWELL 1: Jeff Gelinas and Scott Heath combined to four-hit the River Hawks in America East action in Lowell, Mass. to complete a weekend sweep for the Black Bears. Maine improves to 13-19 on the season and 4-5 in America East play. UMass Lowell falls to 10-13 and 3-5 in conference action. The victory extends Maine’s winning streak to four games.

UMF 13, LYNDON ST. 5: In Bangor, Erskine grad Tom Grady and Ben Keene had three hits apiece to lead UMaine-Farmington to the NAC victory in the first game of a doubleheader. Erskine graduate Sean Cabaniss, Trevor Hisler and Grayson Beressi added two hits each for the Beavers (6-15, 5-6).

CASTLETON 5-12, THOMAS 0-2: Spartan pitching held the Terriers to seven hits and two runs in sweeping the North Atlantic Conference doubleheader at Husson University in Bangor. Conner Johnson spun a two-hit shutout in the opener. In the second game, Joe Quinlan had a pair of hits and an RBI for Thomas (5-17 overall, 4-6 NAC). Castleton State is 15-7, 12-3.

SOFTBALL

THOMAS 6-0, CASTLETON 1-10: The Terriers gained a split in NAC action in Castleton, Vt. Phyllicia Jordan had three hits and two RBIs for Thomas (8-8, 3-1) in the opener while teammate Courtney Veilleux scored three runs. Kelsey Crowe fanned six and didn’t issue a walk for the pitching win. In the second game Jessica Babcock tripled twice and drove in four runs for Castleton State (6-10, 5-3).
