AUGUSTA — Brandon Rogers scored 24 points, 11 on free throws, as the University of Maine at Augusta defeated New Hampshire Technical Institute 89-75 in Yankee Small College Conference men’s basketball action Wednesday.

Jesse Smith added 21 points for the Moose (5-21, 5-11) while Keith Chesley chipped in with 20, 10 on free throws. UMA was 25-32 from the line for the game.

NHTI (13-14, 9-4) was led by Curtis Williams with 22 points and Phil Smith and Ethan Rutledge with 14 apiece.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

MAINE 60, HARTFORD 56: Liz Wood and Ashleigh Roberst scored 13 points apiece to lead the Black Bears to the America East Conference win in West Hartford, Conn. Sophie Weckstrom added 10 points for Maine (14-11, 8-4) while Deanna Maza scored 17 for Hartford (9-16, 6-5).

UMA 89, NHTI 68: Arreonte Lee scored 32 points to lead the Moose to the YSCC win in Augusta.

Lee also had 12 rebounds. Richmond graduate Jamie Plummer added 22 points,11 rebounds and eight assists for UMA (13-9, 10-5). Monmouth graduate Jenn Lola chipped in with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

NHTI (12-15, 5-8) was led by Danielle Kimball with 32 points, including eight 3-pointers.
