HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Cobras take down Phoenix

Staff Report

NORTH ANSON — Brooklynne Lewis and Paige Chadbourne scored in each half as the Carrabec girls soccer team cruised to a 2-0 Mountain Valley Conference win over Spruce Mountain.

Bailey Atwood had an assist while Macy Welch had 11 saves for the Cobras (8-4-1).

Emily Keene had 27 saves for the Phoenix (9-4-0).

Nokomis 7, Belfast 0: Kelsie Richards scored three goals to lead the Warriors in an Eastern B game in Newport.

Kylie Richards, Sierra Fortin, Anna MacKenzie and Shayna Hicks also scored for the Warriors (5-5-2).

Becky Orcutt had had six saves for Nokomis while Grace Davis had seven for Belfast (1-9-1).

Brunswick 5, Lawrence 0: Julia Champagne scored two goals and an assist to lead the Dragons to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in Brunswick.

Anna Cowan, Kira Wolpow and Haley Murano also scored for Brunswick (8-4-1).

Haley Murano had eight saves for Brunswick, which out-shot Lawrence (4-8-1) 27-8.

Marissa Paquette had 10 saves for the Bulldogs.

Hall-Dale 1, Mt. Abram 0:
Mara Stottler scored with 6:40 left in the second half as the Bulldogs beat the Roadrunners in an MVC game in Farmingdale.

Eva Shepherd had an assist on the goal for Hall-Dale (10-1-2). Olivia Maynard earned the win with two saves.

Allie Lopez had eight saves for Mt. Abram (5-8-0).

Boys soccer

Maranacook 5, Erskine 0: Kodey Solmitz scored two goals and Nick Lacasse scored goal and two assists as Maranacook rolled to the Class B victory in Readfield.

Alec Daigle and Taylor Wilbur also scored for the Black Bears (13-0-2), who led 2-0 at the half.

Jared Gartley had nine saves to lead the Eagles (10-3-0).

Brunswick 4, Lawrence 0: Blake Gordan scored two goals and Brunswick cruised to the KVAC A victory in Fairfield.

Quang Durst and Ryan Black also scored for Brunswick (8-5-0) while Ian Burgess had two assists.

Ryan Brecia had six saves for the Dragons while Zach Alley had 10 for Lawrence (2-11-0).
