Staff report

WATERVILLE — Winslow scored two second half goals on its way to a 2-0 win over rival Waterville in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Tuesday.

Bethany Winkin scored with 19 minutes, 34 seconds left in the second half to give Winslow (13-1-0) a 1-0 lead. Sarah Wildes added a goal with 1:48 left to seal the win.

Delaney Wood stopped five shots to earn the win.

Rachel Bergeron had 12 saves for Waterville (5-8-1).

Gardiner 2, MCI 0: The Tigers earned their fourth shutout in a row and seventh of the season in a KVAC B win in Pittsfield.

Sophomore Nickyia Lovely and freshman Claire Crocker scored for Gardiner (11-3). Madeline Reny had an assist.

Courtney Sprague made 10 saves for MCI (5-9-0).

Erskine 1, Morse 0: Nicole Wilson scored to lead the Eagles (4-9-1) to the KVAC B win. Morse falls to (1-13-0).

Nokomis 4, Brewer 0: Mikayla Pelkey scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 9:29 remaining in the first half to lift the Warriors of Newport over the Brewer Witches.

Nokomis scored three more times in the second half with goals by Drew Graves, Lindsay Whitney, and Olivia Brown with an assist by Kirsten Costedio. 

Kendra Underhill had 2 saves for the Warriors.  Brooke Richards had 12 saves for the Witches.

Boys soccer

Bangor 2, Messalonskee 1: Andrew Barrowman scored two first-half goals as the Rams beat the Eagles in a KVAC A game in Oakland.

Liam Harrigan added an assist for Bangor (10-2-0) and Stanley Clarke had six saves.

Dylan Burton scored from Ryan Erskine for Messalonskee (5-5-2). Jonah Webb stopped eight shots.

Mt. Abram 3, Lisbon 0: Bryson Walker had a goal and an assist to lead the Roadrunners to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Lisbon.

Amos Withee and Colin McCarthy-Edwards also scored for Mt. Abram (10-2-0). Trevor Brackley added an assist. Tristen Dyer and Greg Siekman combined to make seven saves.

Nate Bergeron stopped 14 shots for Lisbon (5-5-2).

Winslow 1, Lincoln 1, OT:
Taylor Roy scored 22 minutes into the first half and the Black Raiders earned a tie with the Eagles in a KVAC B game in Winslow.

David Grant had an assist on the goal for Winslow (9-0-3). Alex Berard earned the win with four saves.

Devon Scherer scored from Sawyer Pinkham with four minutes left in regulation for Lincoln (2-4-6). Wally Morse had 20 saves.

Waterville 7, MCI 2: Danilo Guthro had a hat trick to lead the Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win in Pittsfield.

Tommy Samson and Justin Wentworth each had a goal and an assist for Waterville (8-3-1). Kaleb Kane and Zach Disch each scored a goal. Liam Edwards made eight saves.

Slade Emery and Gunner Lovely each had an unassisted goal for the Huskies (1-10-0). Charles Moriaty made 32 saves.

Medomak Valley 2, Mt. View 1:
Zidane McMurrin scored two unassisted goals to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B win in Thorndike.

Noah Beck made eight saves for Medomak.

Vittorio Frascolino scored off an assist from Avery Leclerc for the Mustangs. Mikey Hustus stopped three shots.

Carrabec 4, Winthrop 0: John Layman scored two second half goals as the Cobras beat the Ramblers in an MVC game in North Anson.

Brandon Dixon scored in the first half to give Carrabec (5-4-2) a 1-0 lead. Layman made it 2-0, then Dustin Crawford scored before Layman scored the game’s final goal. Nick Cowan, Nicholas Sansone Jr. and Colby Fortin each had an assist. Trent Richardson had seven saves for the Cobras.
Matthew Sekerak had 28 saves for Winthrop (2-9-1).

Edward Little 5, Lawrence 0: Michael Hammond scored twice and the Eddies beat the Bulldogs in a KVAC A game in Fairfield.

Abdi Yonis, Landon Pope and Seth Sterling also scored for Edwrad Little (8-3-2). Yusuf Aduw had an assist and Llewellyn Jensen had four saves.

Zach Alley stopped three shots for Lawrence (2-10-0).

Girls soccer

Leavitt 4, Erskine 0: Shannon O’Malley scored two goals to lead the Hornets to the KVAC B win in South China.

Lilianna Cousineau added a goal and an assist for Leavitt (4-7-2) while Mackenzie Varney also had a goal. Angela Daigle stopped four shots.

Cassandra Ray made 14 saves for Erskine (4-7-1).

Waterville 10, MCI 0: Pilar Elias had seven goals as the Panthers cruised to a win in Waterville.

Lydia Roy and Brooke Ettinger each had a goal and an assist for Waterville (12-0-0). Fotini Shanos chipped in a goal, while Emily Dufour had three assists and Jenn Christensen and Sarah Shoulta each had one.

Ryleigh Lord had nine saves and Gabby Pyles seven for MCI (4-8-0).

Richmond 7, Valley 0: Cassidy Harriman, Amber Loon and Kelsi Obi each scored twice to lead the host Bobcats to the East/West Conference win.

Kayla Patterson also scored for Richmond (12-0-0). Obi and Elizabeth Hedgepeth combined to make three saves.

Samantha West stopped nine shots for Valley (0-14-0).

Oxford Hills 2, Mt. Blue 0: The Vikings scored twice in the second half on their way to a KVAC A win over the Cougars in Farmington.

Thia Bridges had 15 saves for Mt. Blue (5-5-3).

Sam Bickford stopped seven shots for Oxford Hills (7-3-2).

Lewiston 1, Skowhegan 1, 2OT: Alyssa Cobb scored in the first half and the Indians held on for a KVAC A tie with the Blue Devils in Lewiston.

Cailee Manzer had an assist for Skowhegan (0-11-1) and Andrea Quirion had five saves.

Meagan Mathon scored for Lewiston (0-10-2) with an assist from Kyleigh Letourneau. Kelsey St. Cyr had seven saves.
