ROCKPORT — Cam Thomas ran for 120 yards and three touchdowns as the Waterville Senior High School football team cruised to a 62-14 win over Camden Hills in the Big Ten season opener for both teams.

Thomas scored on runs of 1, 4 and 10 yards. Waterville (1-0) broke the game open with 27 points in the second quarter. Brian Bellows scored on a 45-yard run and threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jordhan Levine in the second quarter, and Dan Pooler’s 4-yard touchdown run gave Waterville a 41-8 halftime lead.

Pooler scored three touchdowns for the Panthers. Alex Pressey also scored for Waterville. Camden Hills is 0-1.

Girls soccer

Morse 1, Winslow 0: Miracle Trimble  scored on a penalty kick in the first half as the Shipbuilders beat the Black Raiders in the season opener Friday.

Hillary Libby made 12 saves for Winslow, while Alesha Aucoin had eight saves for Morse.

Lawrence 1, Skowhegan 0: Morgan Boudreau scored midway through the first half as the Bulldogs beat the Indians in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Skowhegan.

Audri Fortier had an assist on the goal for Lawrence (1-0-0).

Paige Belanger had 14 saves for the Bulldogs, while Andrea Quirion had 12 saves for Skowhegan (0-1-0).

Boys soccer

Mt. Blue 3, Oxford Hills 2: Drew Parsons scored  two goals, including the game-winner with 15 minutes left to play, to lift the Cogars to a season opening KVAC Class A win in Farmington. Evan Backus added a goal for the winners while Ike Doiron assisted all three scores. Tyus Ripley scored both goals for Oxford Hills.

Colton Lawrence made 12 saves for Mt. Blue (1-0-0) while Jake Beauchesne made 10 for Oxford Hills (0-1-0).

Hall-Dale 2, Mt. Abram 1: Konnor Longfellow scored on a free kick with 15 minutes, 31 seconds left to play to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Farmingdale.

Longfellow scored Hall-Dale’s first goal with an assist from Tyler Dubois. Colin Edwards scored for Mt. Abram to tie the game. Hall-Dale (1-0-0) held a 22-15 advantage in shots with Brian Allen making 12 saves. Tristan Dyer made 15 stops for Mt. Abram (0-1-0).

Lawrence 5, Skowhegan 0: five different players scored in the second half to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC win in Fairfield in the season opener for both teams.

Jordan Duffy, Robbie Paddock, James Collins, Nick Chamberlain and Mason Cooper scored goals while Chamberlain added two assists. Zach Halley made six saves for Lawrence while Anthony Paul stopped seven shots for the Indians.

Winslow 7, Morse 0: Taylor Roy scored twice as the Black Raiders cruised to victory Friday.
Evan Clark, Logan Vashon, Justin Burgher, Dakota Herman and Cody Doughty also scored for Winslow.

Skowhegan 7, Mt. Blue 0: Renee Wright scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Indians to the KVAC A win in Farmington. Brooke Michonski added two goals and two assist while Mikayla Toth and Rylie Blanchet each scored and Allison Lancaster contributed three assists.

The Indians held a 32-2 edge in shots and 15-2 advantage in penalty corners. Rileigh Blanchet made 13 saves in goal for Mt. Blue (1-1-0) while Leah Kruise had three stops for Skowhegan (2-0-0).

Lawrence 4, Lewiston 0:
Lauren Watso scored a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC Class a win in Lewiston. Hunter chesley and Dominique Lewis added goals for Lawrence while Kapriece Dahms notched two assists and Alexis Chamberlain and Taylor Watson had one apiece. Kailyn Labonte made eight saves for Lewiston (0-2-0) while Emily Tozier made two for Lawrence (1-1-0).
 
Messalonskee 10, Mt. Ararat 0: Brook Quirion and Erin Field had three goals each while Emily Hogan each had two as Messalonskee cruised to a win Friday.

Nathalie St. Pierre and Ally Corbett also scored for Messalonskee. Corbett had three assists, while St. Pierre had two and Hogan had two.

Nellie Hetherington had 29 saves for Mt. Ararat.
