HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Winslow girls soccer scores in OT to beat Maranacook

Staff report

WINSLOW — Maddy Morneault scored on a penalty kick with 3 minutes, 2 seconds left in overtime to lift Winslow to a 1-0 win over Maranacook in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday.

Hillary Libby made 10 saves for Winslow (5-4-0).

Elizabeth D’Angelo stopped six shots for Maranacook (4-5-1).

Lawrence 2, Brewer 1: Kiana Letourneau and Marissa Paquette each scored in the first half as the Bulldogs beat the Witches in a KVAC A game in Brewer.

Mikeala Beane had an assist for Lawrence (4-4-1) and Paige Belanger had four saves.

Hannah Laskey scored for Brewer (1-7-1) and Mikayla Henderson had six saves.

Waterville 5, Nokomis 0: Pilar Elias scored three goals and added an assist to lead the unbeaten Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win in Newport.

Sarah Shoulta and Lydia Roy added goals for the winners while Roy, Colleen O’Donnell and Kenn Christensen also registered assists.

Gabi Martin made one save in goal for Waterville (10-0-0) while Becky Orcutt made nine for Nokomis (3-5-1).

MCI 2, Leavitt 1: Hannah Emery scored two unassisted first-half goals to lead the Huskies to the KVAC B win in Pittsfield. Ryleigh Lord made 27 saves for MCI (3-6-0).

Shannon O’Malley scored to get the Hornets (3-6-1) within one. Angela Daigle made seven saves.

Boys soccer

Waterville 6, Nokomis 0
: Tommy Sampson had four straight goals to lead the Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win in Waterville.

Kaleb Kane and Cam Gardiner also scored for Waterville (5-3-1). Danilo Guthro added two assists while Michael Olivera had one. Zac Disch made three saves.

Nate Buck stopped seven shots for Nokomis (2-7-0).

Erskine 3, Morse 0: Trevor Hubbard, Ryan Rodrigue and Zack Isbell each scored to lead the Eagles to the KVAC B win in South China. Hubbard also had an assist. Jared Gartley made one save for Erskine (8-1-0).

Myles Day stopped 13 shots for Morse (1-7-1).

Oceanside 4, Mt. View 0: Nick Judge, RJ Hall, Kaleb Robinson and Christian Strake each scored a goal to lead the Mariners to the KVAC B win in Thorndike.

Phil Atwood stopped three shots for Oceanside (7-3-0).

Mikey Hustus made five saves for Mt. VIew (4-4-1) while Emmett Shell stopped three shots.

Brewer 3, Lawrence 1:
Matt Pushard had a goal and an assist as the Witches beat the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

Greg Warmuth and Tyler Timms also scored for Brewer (2-7-0). Caleb Eggert made six saves.

Zoli Nagy scored for Lawrence (2-7-0), while Zach Alley and Parker Towne combined for four saves.

Field hockey

Nokomis 2, Waterville 1:
Lindsay Whitney and Drew Graves both scored as the Warriors beat the Panthers on Friday.

Gabby Bridger scored in the second half with an assist from Kaitlyn Spaulding for Waterville. Rachael Bergeron had 12 saves for the Panthers.

Kendra Underhill had one save for Nokomis.

College golf

AUGUSTA — Nate Ellis finished in a tie for 16th with a 79 for the Colby golf team at the Maine Maritime Academy Mariner Invitational on Friday.
Also for Colby, Steve Carroll had an 82. The Mules finished in eighth place with a score of 336.
