WINSLOW — Trevor Lovely scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Winslow boys basketball team to a 65-42 win in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game over MCI.

Justin Martin added 12 points for Winslow (1-0) and had 12 rebounds.

MCI (0-1) was led by Slade Emery with 13 points.

FOREST HILLS 82, VINALHAVEN 35: Matt Turner had 12 points and 13 assists to lead the Tigers to the East/West Conference win in Jackman.

Tanner Daigle added 19 points while Ryan Petrin and Brandon Ouellette each had 17 for Forest Hills (1-0).

Louis Cray scored 15 points to lead Vinalhaven (0-1).

LAWRENCE 63, SKOWHEGAN 57: Cole Robinson and Joe LeClair each scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs to a KVAC A win over the Indians in Skowhegan.

Brandon Hallee and Brad King each added 10 points for Lawrence (1-0).

Isaac Witham scored a game-high 21 points for Skowhegan (0-1). Dequan Frost added 17 points, including five 3-pointers.

VALLEY 61, BUCKFIELD 39: Collin Miller scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to the Western D victory in Bingham. Dylan Belanger also had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds for Valley (1-0). Teagan Staples had 14 points and 10 rebounds as well.

Robert Rowe had nine points to lead Buckfield (0-1).

MT. VIEW 46, ERSKINE 43 OT: Brady Gibbs scored 15 points to lead the Mustangs to the KVAC B win in overtime in South China.

Mt. View (1-0) blew a 10-point third quarter lead before outscoring the Eagles 5-3 in overtime. Nathan Wren added 11 points and Jack Simpson 10.

Tyler Bailey scored all six of his points from the free throw line in the fourth quarter in Erskine’s (0-1) run. Sophomore Matt Clary also steppe dup and scored five of his 11 points in the fourth. Jared Gartley added 13 points and Trevor Browne had five points and eight rebounds.

High school boys hockey

MESSALONSKEE 3, BANGOR 2: Brandon Nale scored the game-winning goal just 50 seconds after the Rams had tied the game as the Eagles won their season opener at Sawyer Arena in Bangor.

Dan Condon scored in the first period with assists from Chase Cunningham and Jared Cunningham to give Messalonskee a 1-0 lead. Bangor tied it in the second a goal by Justin Courtney, before Messalonskee took the lead back later in the period on a goal by Josh Towle. Owen Trundy tied it in the third period for Bangor.

Chase Cunningham and Jared Cunningham also assisted Nale on the game-winner. Ben Weeks earned the win with 18 saves.
