HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Coro scores 29 for Forest Hills in victory over Vinalhaven

JACKMAN — Kori Coro scored a game-high 29 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Forest Hills girls basketball team to a 62-30 win over Vinalhaven in an East/West Conference game.

Anna Carrier and Keely Taylor each chipped in with eight points for Forest Hills (2-0).

Vinalhaven (0-2) was led by Bailey Wadleigh with nine points.

ERSKINE 60, MT. VIEW 55: On Friday, Hannah Bridges had 21 points and five steals as the Eagles won in Thorndike in their return to Class B.

Mallory Chamberlain had 13 points, five steals, and five assists for Erskine (1-0). Katie Gamage added 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Marissa Chamberlain chipped in with 10 points. Erskine hit 29 free throws as a team.

Brooke Tripp scored 22 points and Courtney Morse finished with 19 for Mt. View (0-1).

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 48, MADISON 30: Samantha Richards scored 14 points and Emily Keene added 12 to lead Spruce Mountain (1-0) to the MVC win in Madison.

The Bulldogs (0-1) were led by Bronte Elias with 10 points and Kristen Wood with nine.


FOREST HILLS 69, VINALHAVEN 34: Tanner Daigle scored a game-high 25 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Tigers past the Vikings in Jackman.

Ryan Petrin scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds for Forest Hills (2-0), while Matt Turner scored six points and had 11 rebounds.

Cody Hamilton led Vinalhaven (0-2) with 16 points.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 46, MT. ABRAM 42: Tom Marshall scored 17 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Falcons to the MVC win in Salem.

Caleb Gauvin added 15 points for Mountain Valley (1-0).

Arthur Ryan scored 13 points to lead Mt. Abram (0-1) while Quinton Hannah chipped in with 10.

WISCASSET 75, CARRABEC 53: Jennings Souza, Matt Craig and Chandler Longfellow each scored 13 points to lead host Wiscasset to the MVC win.

Dale Peaslee added 10 points and five rebounds for Wiscasset (1-0).

Carrabec (0-1) was led by William Crawford with 14 points and Levi Murray with 11.


Winslow 5, Presque Isle 2: Jim Fowler had two goals and an assist as the Black Raiders opened their season with a win in Winslow.

Alex Berard added two goals and Keegan Cain had one for Winslow (1-0-0). Jacob Trask, Walker Thompson and Jacob Larson each had two assists. Andrew Beals made 23 saves.

Alex Michaud and Mikey Michaud each scored for Presque Isle (1-1-0). Jillian Flynn made 17 saves.
