SALEM — Mikayla Luce scored 15 points to lead four Mt. Abram girls basketball players in double figures as the Roadrunners earned a 55-44 win in a Western C prelim game over Traip Academy on Tuesday night.

Tori Beane added 14 points, including three 3-pointers, while Miranda Smith scored 12 points and Annie Dexter 11. The No. 7 Roadrunners (10-9) advance to face No. 2 Madison at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center in the quarterfinals.

Traip, which ends its season at 6-13, was led by Alli Barrett with 18 points.

No. 4 Waynflete 73, No. 13 Carrabec 36: Martha Veroneau had 22 points as the Flyers beat the Cobras in a Western C prelim game in Portland.

No. 4 Waynflete improves to 15-3 and advances to play in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center. No. 13 Carrabec ends the season 5-13.

Rhiannan Jackson added and Leigh Fernandez both added 12 points for Waynflete.

Hannah Atwood had six points for Carrabec (5-13).

Boys hockey

Messalonskee 9, Lawrence 5: Jared Cunningham had a goal and six assists to lead the Eagles past the Bulldogs at Sukee Arena in Winslow.

J.T. Towle and and Chase Cunningham each scored a hat trick for Messalonskee (13-2-0).

Tyler Boudreau and Cody Martin each scored two goals for Lawrence (6-10-0).

Bangor 2, Waterville 1: Sam Kenny scored the game-winning goal as the Rams beat the Panthers in Waterville.

Jake Fournier scored in the first period as Bangor (13-2-0) took a 1-0 lead. Will Bolduc scored from Zach Disch and Parker Giddy in the second period to tie it for the Panthers (3-12-0).

Rye Powell had 20 saves for Bangor and Kaleb Kane had 27 for Waterville.
