WATERVILLE — Waterville native Tim Locke doubled in a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, giving the Thomas College baseball team a 7-6 win in game two of a double header with New England College and clinching the North Atlantic Conference sweep at Ryan Field.

Thomas took Saturday’s first game, 2-0.

Skowhegan’s Taylor Bacon earned the game two win with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Terriers.

Locke threw a complete game shutout for the win in game one, striking out nine while allowing one walk and two hits. Joe Quinlan and Derek Kane each drove in a run for the Terriers (7-20, 6-8 NAC).

SOFTBALL

UMF 7-8, MAINE MARITIME 5-3: Cony grad Amy Jones drove in three runs in game two of a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader to help the Beavers complete the sweep in Castine.

Katie Clark had two hits and drove in two runs for the Beavers (7-5, 5-3 NAC).

In game one, Kennadi Grover had four hits and drove in a pair of runs for UMF. Andi Flannery had three hits and scored two runs for the Mariners (4-13, 0-9).

THOMAS 6-2, LYNDON STATE 5-10: Kelsey Crowe scored on Faith Robinson’s sacrifice fly to left field in the top of the 10th inning to give the Terriers the win in game one of a NAC doubleheader in Waterville.

Lyndon State took a 10-2 win in game two for the split.

In game one, Korrie Laren drove in two runs for Thomas (10-11). Crowe pitched all 10 innings for the win, striking out six.

Lyndon (4-16) scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take control of game two. Alyssa Eugley had two hits for the Terriers.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

COLBY 14, MIDDLEBURY 11: Lindsey McKenna scored five goals, and Katharine Eddy added three to lead the Mules to the New England Small College Athletic Conference win in Middlebury, Vt.

Colby (7-5, 5-4 NESCAC) led by a goal, 9-8, at the half. Sarah Lux had four assists for Colby, while Eddy assisted on three goals. After Middlebury’s Katie Ritter scored to give the Panthers a 10-9 lead in the second half, McKenna scored back-to-back goals to give the Mules the lead for good with just under 20 minutes to play.

Michelle Burt and Claire Dickson combined for six saves for Colby. Megan Griffin scored three goals for Middlebury (10-4, 6-3).

THOMAS 23, GREEN MOUNTAIN 4: The Terriers scored the first nine goals of the game on the way to the North Atlantic Conference rout in Poultney, Vt.

Messalonskee grad Miranda Tinsman, Jennifer Day and Brittany Premo each scored seven goals for Thomas (6-5, 4-1). Allie McCarthy made two saves for the win.

Johanna Douglas scored three goals for Green Mountain (0-8, 0-5).

UMF 8, COLBY-SAWYER 7: Ayla Allen scored an unassisted goal with 4:26 to play to lift the Beavers to the NAC win at Kents Hill.

UMF (5-8, 3-3 NAC) led 7-4 with 20 minutes to play before Colby-Sawyer (2-10, 0-5) scored three consecutive goals to tie the game. Allen had three goals for the Beavers.

Hannah Goodenow made 16 saves for UMF. Kellie Lander had eight saves for the Chargers.

MEN’S LACROSSE

UMF 19, GREEN MOUNTAIN 8: Jake Linkletter scored eight goals to lead the Beavers to the North Atlantic Conference win in Poultney, Vt.

Brandon Melville added four goals for UMF (4-6, 4-4 NAC).

Ben Altmaier made nine saves for the Beavers. Sean Berce had four assists for the Beavers. Mike Smith scored five goals for Green Mountain (0-11, 0-7).

MIDDLEBURY 12, COLBY 6: Despite Saturday’s loss to Middlebury, Colby earned a spot in the NESCAC men’s lacrosse playoffs, with the Bates loss to Connecticut College.

Jack Rautiola led a balanced Middlebury offense with three goals. The Panthers (8-6, 6-3 NESCAC) scored the first five goals of the game and never trailed.

Austin Sayre scored two goals for Colby (6-7, 3-6).

BOYS LACROSSE

CONY 16, OXFORD HILLS 2: Austin Davis scored four goals to lead the Rams over the Vikings in South Paris.

Dan Erbe scored three goals for Cony (1-0), while Alex Stilphen and John Bennett each scored two goals.

Bronson Kieltyka, Drew Keithley, Joel Bennett, Bret Sproul and Chad Bickford each scored a goal for the Rams.

Oxford Hills drops to 0-1.

BOYS BASEBALL

KENTS HILL 7, HEBRON 6: Riley Boivin hit a three-run home run in the first inning, and pitched five innings for the win in Kents Hill.

Boivin had two hits for Kents Hill (1-2). Santa Takahashi had three hits and earned the save with two scoreless innings of relief. Hebron is 0-2.
