FARMINGTON — Nick Mayo had 13 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to lead Messalonskee to a 54-29 win against Mt. Blue in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A basketball game Monday.
Jordon Holmes added 12 points for Messalonskee (9-4) while Jordan Greenleaf chipped in with six points and six assists.
Mt. Blue (2-11) was led by Zach Mittelstadt with eight points.
MARANACOOK 38, ERSKINE 27: Taylor Wilbur scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Black Bears to a win over the Eagles in South China.
Cam Brochu added eight points for Maranacook (10-4). The Black Bears were 6 of 7 in free-throws in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Tyler Bailey led Erskine (0-12) with 10 points.
VALLEY 84, ISLESBORO 39: The Cavaliers outscored Islesboro 50-16 in the second half in posting the East/West Conference win in Bingham. Colin Miller paced the winners with 18 points and eight rebounds while Dylan Belanger had13 points and seven steals while Jordan Gillespie and Cody Laweryson 11 points each. Forrest Boucher and Cameron Jack scored 11 points apiece for Islesboro (5-6). Valley is 9-3.
CARRABEC 58, TELSTAR 42: William Crawford scored 17 points to lead the Cobras to the Mountain Valley Conference win in North Anson. Troy Dunphy scored 18 points John Layman added 11 for Carrabec (4-11) while Austin Ryerson led Telstar (2-13) with 20 points and Mike Doherty scored 10.
MADISON 65, MT. ABRAM 40: The Bulldogs jumped to a 21-4 first-quarter lead on their way to the MVC win in Madison. Derek LeBlanc led the winners with 15 points while Ty Cowan scored 10. Amos Withee led Mt. Abram (1-13) with 11 points. Madison is 6-7.
FOREST HILLS 72, GPC 35: Tanner Daigle scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Tigers to the Class D win in Portland. Brandon Ouellette added 10 points, 10 assists and 10 steals for the Tigers while Matt Turnber scored 10 points. David Davol led Greater Portland Christian (1-10) with 15 points. Forest Hills is 12-1.
VALLEY 24, ISLEBORO 23, OT: Teagan Laweryson had a steal and made a layup with 10 seconds remaining in overtime to lead the Cavaliers over the Eagles in an East/West game in Bingham.
Laweryson led Valley (6-6) with 12 points, while Jordan Belanger added six points.
Callie Cook led Isleboro (8-3) with six points.
MARANACOOK 56, ERSKINE 28: Christine Miller and Catherine Sanborn combined for 39 points to lead the Black Bears to the KVAC B win in Readfield.
Miller finished with 23 points while Sanborn added 16 for Maranacook (9-5). Sanborn also had nine steals and five assists. Sarah Clough chipped in with six points and 10 steals.
Erskine (3-10) was led by Marissa Chamberlain with six points.
CARRABEC 70, TELSTAR 19: Liberty Chestnut scored 14 points to lead the Cobras to the Mountain Valley Conference win in North Anson. Mickayla White added 11 points and 14 rebounds for Carrabec (10-3) while Becca Howard led Telstar (1-12) with 10 points.
