SALEM — Amos Withee’s 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted Mt. Abram past Telstar 41-40 in Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball action Tuesday.

Withee scored 13 points for Mt. Abram (2-14). Tristan Dyer added 12 points for the Roadrunners.

Mike Dougherty led Telstar (3-13) with 14 points.

GARDINER 45, ERSKINE 34: The Tigers pulled away in the second quarter en route to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win in Gardiner. Seth McFarland led Gardiner (10-5) with 19 points while Brad Weston and Joe Harnett each grabbed five rebounds and Alex LaPointe contributed five steals and three assists. Jared Gartley led Erskine (0-15) with 13 points.

VALLEY 63, RICHMOND 35: The Cavaliers pulled away in the second quarter to take the East/West Conference win in Bingham.

Teagan Staples had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Valley (12-3). Cody Laweryson scored 10 points and Dylan Belanger had seven assists, all in the first half.

Jon Simmons led Richmond (7-6) with 14 points.

BRUNSWICK 60, SKOWHEGAN 35: Derek Devereaux scored 13 points to lead the Dragons to the KVAC A win in Brunswick.

Eli Holland had nine points for Skowhegan. Brunswick is 10-5, Skowhegan is 1-14.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 42, MADISON 38: The Phoenix overcame a slow first half on their way to the MVC win in Madison. Deonte Ring scored a game-high 20 points to lead the winners while Derek Leblanc led Madison with 10 points. Spruce Mountain is 14-2, Madison is 6-9.

MT. VIEW 59, NOKOMIS 47: Nokomis senior Andrew Cartright scored 31 points to reach the 1,000 point milestone, but the Mustangs took the KVAC B win in Newport.

Cartright needed 19 points for 1,000. Nathan Wren led Mt. View with 28 points.

LAWRENCE 61, MT. BLUE 41: Dustin Simpson-Bragg scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs to the win in Fairfield.

Joe Leclair added 10 points for Lawrence (8-7). Zach Mittlestadt led Mt. Blue (2-13) with 13 points.

MARANACOOK 77, MCI 48: Taylor Wilbur made five 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to power the Black Bears to the Class B win in Pittsfield.

Caleb Jackson scored 20 points and Kyle Wilbur added 10 for Maranacook 12-4

Mitchell Hallee scored a team-high 20 points to lead MCI.

MESSALONSKEE 56, HAMPDEN 31: Mikayla Turner had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Oakland.

Kelsey Mayo added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Messalonskee (10-6) while Sophie Holmes had a nice all-around game with six points, four steals and two assists.

Hampden (2-13) was led by Erin Murphy with 14 points.

MARANACOOK 51, MCI 46: Christine Miller had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Black Bears to the KVAC B win in Readfield.

Catherine Sanborn added eight points for Maranacook (11-5) while Sarah Clough had six points and six assists.

MCI (1-14) was led by Brianna Losse with 18 points and Ashley Alton with 15.

RICHMOND 46, VALLEY 13: Kelsea Anair scored 14 points to lead the Bobcats to the East/West Conference win in Bingham. Meranda Martin added 13 points for Richmond (7-9) while Haley Murphy contributed eight points, eight rebounds and four steals. Valley is 7-8.

GARDINER 46, ERSKINE 44: Gardiner’s fourth-quarter rally caught Erskine in the final minute of play as the Tigers pulled out a KVAC B win in South China.

Ally Day led the Tigers with 12 points and 13 rebounds while Lauren Chadwick added nine points.

Hannah Bridges paced Erskine with 14 points, Mallory Chamberlain added 12 and Mia Taylor grabbed 10 rebounds. Gardiner is 9-5, Erskine is 3-12.

SKOWHEGAN 47, BRUNSWICK 42: Taylor Johnson scored 16 points and Alanna Atkinson added 13 to lead the Indians to the KVAC A victory in Skowhegan.

Andrea Quirion scored 10 points for Skowhegan (9-6), which led 28-21 at the half.

Julia Champagne scored a game-high 17 points to pace Brunswick (9-6).

RANGELELY 65, BUCKFIELD 35: Seve Deery-DeRaps scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Lakers to the East/West Conference win in Buckfield.

Blayke Morin added 14 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists for Rangeley (14-1) while Tori Letarte chipped in with 11.

Buckfield (2-13) was led by Gabby Thibodeau with eight points.

LAWRENCE 50, MT. BLUE 31: Nia Irving scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC a win in Farmington.

Brianna Soucy added 12 points for Lawrence (13-2). Caitlin Kane and Abby Brinkman each scored six points to lead Mt. Blue (7-7).

COLLEGE MEN

BOWDOIN 106, THOMAS 42: Andrew Madlinger scored 17 points to lead the Polar Bears to the non-conference win in Waterville.

Bowdoin (16-1), ranked No. 22 in the nation, made 15 3-pointers. Matt Mathias and Lucas Hausman each scored 16 points for the Polar Bears.

Mike Ajanki led Thomas (6-11) with eight points.
