The 2014 NCAA men's hockey championship finals will be hosted by Bowdoin College and played at the Colisee in Lewiston, the NCAA announced on Monday.
This will be the first time the finals have been held in Maine. The bid for the event was jointly submitted by Bowdoin and the Maine Sports Commission. It will be held March 21-22, 2014.
“We are excited to bring the championship to Lewiston, Maine,” said Don Olson, chair of the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Committee and director of athletics at The College of St. Scholastica.
This is the second time that Bowdoin has hosted the finals round competition of an NCAA Championship. The school held the Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in 1989.
