Martin decides on Keene State

A day after announcing he was leaving the University of Maine basketball team, Ryan Martin has decided to attend Keene State College, a Division III school in Keene, N.H. Martin, who helped Maranacook Community High School to two Class B state championships, played sparingly at Maine his freshman year and was redshirted this past season. He confirmed he was offered a basketball scholarship at Maine for his fourth and fifth year at Division I school but decided to attend Keene State.
“I’m very excited right now to start playing again,” he said.
Martin, who was named Mr. Maine Basketball in 2008, was recruited by Keene State coach Rob Colbert in high school. The Owls, who play in the Little East Conference, went 13-13 last season. They return the bulk of their team including the Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year in their conference.
