AMHERST -- The University of Maine men's basketball team parlayed a big run in the second half into an 68-56 victory over UMass at the Mullins Center on Wednesday night.
Gerald McLemore paced the Black Bears (3-5) with 12 points.
Anthony Gurley scored 12 points to lead the Minutemen (7-2), who shot 8 of 35 in the second half.
UMass, which led by as manay as nine points in the first half, made just two field goals in the final five minutes of the game.
The teams were tied 32-32 at the half.
St. Joseph's 62, UMF 32: Abby Young scored a game-high 13 and Megan McDevitt added 11 to help Saint Joseph's (5-3) topple UMaine-Farmington (1-5) in a non-conference game at the Harold Alfond Center in Standish.
Young and Alyssa Grigware , who added a career-high 10 points, spearheaded an SJC bench that scored 35 points in the lopsided win.
Jillian Ross led the Beavers with eight points and nine rebounds and Ashley Busque added six points for UMF.
