SKOWHEGAN — Ben Salley scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a balk and the Skowhegan baseball team held on to beat Brewer 4-3 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Thursday.

John Swett recorded the final two outs in the seventh to earn the save for Skowwhegan (2-4).

After pinch hitter Lucas Wallace led off the sixth inning with a single, Salley reentered the game and ran at first base. Chase McKenney tried to lay down a sacrifice bunt, but after failing to do so, lined a single to the right center field gap, moving Salley to third base. Salley then scored when Brewer pitcher Tony Bissell balked.

Medomak Valley 10, MCI 2: Micah Williamson had two singles and three RBIs as the Panthers beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Waldoboro.

Ryan Ripley added two singles and two RBIs for Medomak Valley (3-2-1).

Mason Lasalle had a double for MCI (0-6).

Erskine 6, Lewiston 1: Tom Grady pitched a complete game, allowing three hits as the Eagles won in South China.

Grady, who missed time with a broken finger, struck out five and walked five while allowing four hits. John Suga and Shyler Scates had RBI doublesin the first inning as Erskine (4-2) scored three times.

Lewiston (4-2) scored in the second inning, when Eddie Emerson singled to drive in Shawn Ricker.

Richmond 6, Valley 0: Tyler Harrington scattered nine hits, and the Bobcats capitalized on six Valley errors to take the East/West Conference win in Bingham.

Peter Lorbeski’s two-run double in the second inning broke the game open for Richmond (1-3). Harrington struck out six and walked none for the win.

Dylan Belanger, Seth Malloy and Matt Hunnewell each had two hits for Valley (2-3). The Cavaliers stranded runners at second and third base in three different innings.

Gardiner 22, Mt. View 0, 5 innings: Dennis Meehan had a triple, a grand slam, a single and seven RBIs as the Tigers cruised to a KVAC B win in Thondike.

Everyone in the lineup for Gardiner (5-2) had a hit. Jake Palmer added four singles. Josh Ouellette pitched a complete game, allowing three hits, while striking out five and walking two.

Mt. View falls to 2-5.

Morse 13, Waterville 3: The Shipbuilders scored 10 runs in the first inning to hand the Panthers their first loss of the season in Bath.

Danny Pooler had three singles and Josh Gormley two singles for Waterville (6-1).

Nokomis 3, Lincoln 1: Becky Orcutt and Sara Packard combined on a four-hitter as the Warriors defeated the Eagles in Newport.

Orcutt went the first five innings and Packard pitched the final two for Nokomis (4-2). The Warriors got two of their runs in the third inning on singles by Drew Graves and Ashley Griffith, and RBI groundouts by Lacey Kent-Webber and Taylor Lovley.

Griffith had two singles for Nokomis.

Messalonskee 7, Lawrence 1: Kassi Michaud tossed a three-hitter as the Eagles held off the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

Lawrence (1-5) was within 4-1 until Messalonskee scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Megan Moren had a triple for the Bulldogs.

Michaud struck out six in the win. Nikki Collier and Kylee Knight each had a double and a single for the Eagles (6-0). Courtney Veilleux added two singles.

Erskine 11, Lewiston 0: Ashley Green threw a five-hit shutout and had two hits to lead the Eagles past the Blue Devils in South China.

Green struck out seven and walked one. Hattie Welch and Taylor Boucher added to the offense with three singles apiece.

Erica Brochu hit two singles for Lewiston (0-6).

Morse 4, Waterville 2: The Shipbuilders scored two in the second on a two-run double by Megon Hixon and two more in the third on their way to a KVAC B win in Waterville.

Nichole Laggan added an RBI double in the third for Morse (1-4). Hixon pitched a complete game to earn the win.

Jenna Gagnon had an RBI double and Danielle Jacques an RBI single for Waterville (4-3). Hannah Allen also doubled for the Panthers.

Richmond 22, Valley 0, 5 innings: Jamie Plummer allowed two hits, struck out five, didn’t walk a batter and drove in a pair of runs as the Bobcats cruised to a win in Bingham.

Danica Hurley and Brianna Snedeker each had two singles, while Alyssa Pearson had a single and a double for Richmond (4-0).

Teagan Lawyerson had two singles for Valley (0-4).

Girls lacrosse

Messalonskee 12, Mountain Valley 3: Sarah Grenier had four goals, while both Mara Balboni and Kristen Kern had two goals and two assists in the Eagles win over the Falcons in Rumford.

Sydney Gagne added two goals and an assists, while Halee Pelletier had a goal and an an assist, and Kristy Bernatchez had a goal for Messalonskee (3-2).

Izzy Skinner and Jen Coulombe combined to make seven saves in the win.

Boys lacrosse

Messalonskee 20, Oxford Hills 4: Nate DelGiudice had four goals and six assists as the Eagles cruised to the KVAC A win in Oakland.

Luke Vigue added five goals and an assist, while J.T. Towle, Kyle Gleason and Aiden Calkins each had two goals and an assist for Messalonskee (4-2). Ryan Erskine added a goal and an assist and Ted Weeks had a goal.

Nick Ricardo had three goals for Oxford Hills (0-5).

Mountain Valley 10, Mt. Blue 3: Kyle Duguay had five goals and an assist as the Falcons beat the Cougars in Farmington.

Nathan Nichols added three goals, while Jonathan Petrie had two for Mountain Valley.

Sam Taylor had two goals and an assist, while Matt Smith had a goal for Mt. Blue. Jon Andrews made nine saves.

College baseball

USM 13, Bowdoin 9: Gardiner graduate Forrest Chadwick had two doubles, a single, scored three runs and had an RBI to lead the Huskies to the win in Brunswick.

Erskine graduate Nick Grady added a two-run single for USM (21-16) while Winthrop graduate David Ricker chipped in with two singles. Messalonskee graduate Nate Veilleux earned the win in relief, tossing three innings and allowing no earned runs.
