Morning Sentinel Staff
MADISON -- Kirsten Wood scored 13 points to lead the Madison past Wiscasset 54-29 in a Mountain Valley Conference girls basketball game Thursdya.
Lyndsay Weese added five points, five rebounds and four assists for Madison (13-3) while Alex Gervais chipped in with 10 points.
Wiscasset (2-14) was led by Kayla Conners with 14 points.
Boys basketball
Madison 74, Wiscasset 67: Austin Kane socred 18 of his team-high 27 points in the fourth quarter, helping Madison rally to take the MVC win at home.
Madison (9-7) trailed 52-45 heading into the fourth quarter. M.J. Flanders had 11 points for the Bulldogs, while Steven Lawrence added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Devin Grover led Wiscasset (9-7) with 27 points, while Jordan Jones added 21.
Dirigo 73, Mt. Abram 28: Caleb Turner scored 18 points to lead the Cougars to the MVC win. TJ Frost added 13 points for Dirigo (15-0) while Cody St. Germaine had 11.
Mt. Abram (3-13) was led by Tyler Hupper with 10 and Ethan Boyd with eight.
Boys hockey
Biddeford 4, Waterville 2: James Jamison and Tyson Nadeau each had a goal and an assist to lead the Tigers to the Class A win at the Biddeford Ice Arena. Nick Lemieux and Corey Brown also scored for Biddeford (5-2-2).
Chris Lee scored both goals for Waterville (2-12-0). J.T. Whitten had two assists.
